Time for a change of pace here. Been working too much recently… wishing I was a few miles down the road in ATX for SXSW. I seriously think it’s tearing at my soul. But, alas, I will be there in less than 24 hours.
To get some new content up here for you guys, I decided to offer another vinyl download code giveaway. We change gears for this one, bringing you Iron & Wine’s mellow Sea & The Rhythm EP from 2003. Sam Beam was one of the first ‘indie’ artists I got into and remains my go-to musician for lazy, sunny days. When Sam released his collection of B-sides and rarities, Around The Well, sometime last year, I went on a bit of an Iron & Wine vinyl shopping spree. So stay tuned here for more I&W download code giveaways in the future.
Just click below or on the album cover above, enter your email address, and that’s it. I’ll pick a random winner next week at this time.

Been quiet around here lately. Sorry for the lack of posts.
But to get things going again, how about another giveaway?? This time, I’ve got a download code for one of my favorite 2007 albums – hell one of my favorite albums EVER: Fleet Foxes‘ self-titled debut is an elegant masterpiece like nothing before or since. Robin Pecknold and crew created a unique sound that is at once classical and contemporary. The debut will no doubt be hard to follow, but rumor has it the band’s sophomore effort will be coming this year.

Another week, another winner, another contest. Congratulations to Tim for winning the Justin Townes Earle contest from last Wednesday.
This week, I bring you another top 10 album from my list – Conor Oberst and the Mystic Valley Band – Outer South. The album placed #5 and also marked the 3rd year in a row that Conor Oberst (in some form) has created a Top 5 album – according to me, of course. Outer South shows The Mystic Valley Band taking a step towards the front of the stage – writing and taking lead vocals on a number of tracks. These songs really contribute to the album as a whole and actually played a big part in my high placing of it. Of course, Conor’s songs are impressive. Three of them made it to my Top 50 Songs List.
Once again, simply click below (or on the album cover above), enter your email, and that’s it. I’ll randomly pick a winner this time next week.

‘Tis the season of giving. And although I haven’t let loose any holiday music just yet, I though I’d join the spirit of the season with the first-ever This Mornin’ I Am Born Again Contest/Giveaway!
I try to buy vinyl as much as possible. I’ve basically stopped buying CD’s unless I’ve just got to have a hard copy and it’s the only option available. These days, with most new vinyl purchases (and many re-issues) you get a code to download the album in high-quality mp3’s. Thing is… I’m an impatient person. More often than not, by the time I get to the record store or the vinyl arrives in the mail, I’ve already found a way to get my hands on the digital tracks. So, lucky for you, I have a stack of unused (hopefully still valid) download codes just waiting to be redeemed.
Up for grabs tonight is #16 on my Top 20 Albums of 2009 – The Felice Brothers’ Yonder Is The Clock.
Here’s what you gotta do:

Which Felice Brothers song contains a ‘pop’ in the audio, allegedly due to a nearby lightning strike while recording in the rain? (mentioned before on this blog)
Congrats to Scott, who sent in the correct answer, ‘Hey, Hey Revolver.’
Comment with the answer and your email (or email me if you like that better).
First correct answer wins the download code.
